Reflection C

It’s been a great 3 months into taking EDCI 338 and I have learned a lot from the course materials and perspectives from my peers.

From the course materials, I learned something from every weekly message, and although all of them benefit how I see the world from the angle of social media, there are three parts that I feel blown away the most. The first one is about cyberbullying lesson plan. I know about cyberbullying for a long time, but I never thought about curing this phenomenon from its origin: young minds. the lesson plan Keena and I improved not only may someday teach kids, but also has taught me how to cope with cyberbullying. The second one is Media Triangle, the thoughts and ideas it present is very new to me, so I was and still am interested in this topic. The third one is all the social media companies we managed to connect through out the term. I have been using these apps for years but I’ve never used them professionally. Now I have developed new ways of expanding my PLN and it’s exciting. I visited several peers’ blogs sites and I found keena’s blog post on how health information science professionals use Youtube intriguing. The course has managed to change my whole perspective on the use and functions of social media. I see the power of it, and I’ve decided to use it well in the future.

WE ARE ALL CONNECTED !

What do we learn about when we check out someone’s social media accounts?

There are various types of information to discover when we check out one’s social media accounts, starting with one’s private information.

For instance, me, you will find my name, age, graduated school, address, etc.

You can also follow my regular sharing and posts to see my recent activities, where I was or even where I am right now.

When you check me out at a professional perspective, you will find me being fascinated by professional articles and materials in my field and sharing those discoveries. I would also post some daily life activities like some technology I just bought or a new computer set up I just DIYed.

I think the posts that most describes me as a professionals are often those ‘geeky’ materials where I share materials related to technology.
